Introduction is in order. I am Mike. I am a white, Christian, Republican, male who is straight. In today's society and especially in media, all five of those descriptors make me hugely offensive to a number of people. Let's break it down:
I am white - for a number of years, being white meant you were somehow inherently racist towards other non-whites. Somehow, just being this race meant you hate blacks, hispanics and others and inherently also have every privilege while denying those privileges to other races. And while you supposedly had all these inherent benefits, things like affirmative action and minority benefits (tuitions and the like) sprang up to somehow offset this built in racial advantage the white people have. We will talk about this more later.
I am Christian - despite revisionist history and a growing trend to try to eradicate all Christianity in the public area as much as possible, this country was founded by predominately Christan people with predominate Christian principles. Whatever faith you may call your own (or none for some Loudmouths) Christianity is the dominant faith in this world, with some 2 billion believers of various denominations. The Christian faith has a huge history with more evidence and documentation to support it's claims than any other religion or faith out there. As an Christian Apologetic, I plan to spend a long time on this in future posts.
I am Republican - I am a very proud member of the Republican party. To offset the first couple things people will say, I am not rich or wealthy, and I don't only care about the rich or wealthy. I believe that the Republican party has the best ideals for this country. Fiscal responsibility, personal responsibility, limited government (and limited government intrusion in our live) as well at the old fashioned American Dream are all reasons I, as a middle class person, support and honor this political party. Again, we will delve into this more in later posts.
I am Straight - Today it seems everyone has bought into the gay agenda (or so you would be told). There is an agressive and vocal movement by a small group of people and their supporters to try to push their lifestyle and opinions on people who may not want anything to do with that lifestyle, or simply don't care. This group has tried to claim that their views are the views of the majority and that gay marriage and acceptance is a given which the world supports. The fact that up until as recently as the late 70s this was considered a mental illness and that they claim the whole world is moving towards acceptance when only approximately 10 of the 207 countries (as defined by the UN) in this overly accepting world allow any form of gay marriage is a bit mystifying. This push to have what they claim to be their personal lives and lifestyle, not only tolerated but accepted and approved of has gotten excessive lately. All of the sudden gay issues are in all kinds of TV shows, movies and newspapers. It has even hit what was a relatively innocent children's activity, comic books. And Heaven forbid if you don't actively support this movement, you are suddenly a closed minded, hate filled bigot. Again, this blog will talk about this subject regularly.
I am Male - though it is not the issue it was in the 90s, there are still a bunch of feminists out there who hate men like me, simply because we are men. They have pushed this sexual equality issue for years (since the 60's) and due to this, for some children (and now some adults) the differences between the sexes have blurred. While many bra-burning women claim to be equal to men, they don't want to be treated the same as men. They want to be able to take special time from work for maternity leave, they want the same pay without the same work or effort. And to be clear, this is not all women, in fact, much like the gay movement, it is just a small, very loud mouthed group of people that try to push their views on everyone else. I do think this attempt to make all sexes "equal" has lead to a blurring of sexual identity and may be a part of the growing number who have "sexual identity" issues such as homosexuals and transgender people. Again, this will be talked about in more posts in the future.
So there you have it. I am all five of those things and as I have pointed out, for many in this world, particularly those I so lovingly refer to as Loudmouths, I am a thoroughly offensive person...just for being what I am.
But to be as clear as possible, I don't care! If my faith, my political view and sadly, my gender, race and sexual orientation offend you? Too bad! Though the liberal Loudmouths out there claim to enjoy first amendment rights, it only seems they want those rights for themselves and not outspoken people with differing opinions!
That does it for this first post. If you read this post and want to comment, please do.
My next post will start to look at democratic/media hypocrisy.
Until then, may the Lord Jesus Christ be with you!
